FOREST SCHOOL

"Childhood should be a magical time, and Moor Green certainly offers something special in that sense, that little bit of added magic that can be found in the woods at Forest School, and in the gardens" - Moor Green Parent

Forest School sessions at Moor Green embrace the Forest School Principles, offering every child regular opportunities to visit the natural environment supported by a qualified Forest School practitioner.

Taking place in our on-site woodland and surrounding community woodlands, led by our dedicated Forest School Leader, the sessions offer every child the opportunity to develop a relationship with the natural world, take supported risks and enjoy activities which consider the holistic development of every child, boosting children's confidence, self-esteem, and independence, enhancing social interaction and physical skills. (Research supports these positive impacts.)

Children can choose to use tools such as saws and knives, climb trees, build and light fires to cook over, build dens, get creative using natural resources, learn to respect and preserve nature and a myriad of other activities which are child-led.
